Episode 22 kicks off with a tune from Chad VanGaalen’s electronica project Black Mold. Michael sits down to discuss The Record of the Week Club project with Winnipeg producer Mike Petkau. We’ll also hear the new single from Two Hours Traffic’s follow up to Little Jabs, plus a track from Tom Wilson’s Lee Harvey Osmond.

This episode's featured artist is none other than Winnipeg favourites The Western States. We'll be heavy on the Vancouver content with tracks from T. Nile, Corbin Murdoch, and a sing along number with Dan Mangan. It will also feature a track off Winnipeg producer/musician Mike Petkau's intriguing project The Record of the Week Club.

The Killbeat Podcast hits the big two zero, and for this episode host Michael Elves chats with Killbeat founder Ken Beattie and takes a look back on the history of the company. This podcast also features new tracks from Jim Byrnes, and Dinosaur Jr. as well as former High Dials member Rishi Dhir's current project, Elephant Stone.

Our featured download is taken from the forth-coming album from Winnipeg roots-rockers The Western States.

The latest episode of the Killbeat Podcast features an interview with Inuit throat-singer Tanya Tagaq about her latest record, Auk/Blood. Plus great new music from the East coast, an oldie but a goodie from Radiogram and something so new from Brent Randall it won't be out until 2009!
Episode 16 (October 2008)
As Promised on the last podcast, this episode features an interview with WOMEN, whose self titled debut on Flemish Eye was produced by Chad VanGaalen (we'll also be hearing some more material from Soft Airplane, Chad's latest on Flemish Eye). Mark Berube and Steve Dawson vie for the 'hardest-working-man-in-Canada' honours as Berube releases his What The Boat Gave The River within one year of his last record and Dawson releases Telescope, his second record of 2008. All that and more on this episode of the Killbeat Podcast.

AA Sound System's Ayla Brook stopped by the UMFM studio in Winnipeg and sat down for a chat. He also brought his guitar and played us a few songs. We'll also hear from Polaris Shortlist-ers Two Hours Traffic, some "summer songs" from The Great Outdoors and Cameron Latimer, as well as the lead-off track from Exclaim cover boy Chad Vangaalen.

This episode of the Killbeat Podcast finds host Michael Elves finally catching up with Katie Stelmanis whose fantastic album Join Us came out at the very beginning of this year - it was worth the wait as she tells us about the genesis of the record and being part of the Blocks Recording collective. We've also got new material from Ayla Brook who will be the featured guest on the next episode - brace yourself for some fantastic live performances on that one as Ayla brought his guitar, as well as releases that aren't even in stores yet like the new Mardeen record!
