Terribly Empty Pockets

It’s hard to describe Columbus Ohio’s Terribly Empty Pockets. If Morrissey met Wall of Voodoo for a counseling session guided by Michael Stype you may come close. Whoever they are, Josh Holt’s heart twanger of a voice is infectious and the lovely jangling guitar work would make Johnny Marr or Peter Buck look over their shoulders, startled.

The Cat Mountain ep provides a fine opportunity for fans to discover the Terribly Empty Pockets, this hidden jewel of an indie band. Guaranteed you’ll be singing the chorus to Drunk On Gasoline or Billy Billy next time you wake up in a cold sweat at 3 in the morning, so playfully addictive are these little ditties.

After exploring other terrains for a while, Terribly Empty Pockets are back in Ohio mining chords and melodies they put together their next album. In the meantime we can all sit back and lap up what are some exquisite songs by one sillily special indie band.
