Georgia Harmer returns with her first new song since her 2022 debut album Stay In Touch. “Can We Be Still” spotlights the Toronto singer-songwriter's eloquent storytelling with expressive grace. A dedication to friendship, Georgia’s indelible voice envelopes the softly-strummed song with urgency and poise, singing “Now do you understand / I don’t have another plan / Now is the time to say / What it is you’ve been dreaming of saying.”

“‘Can We Be Still’ is about lifelong best-friendship and striving to protect it from the inevitable changes that come with time,” says Georgia. “It’s about having a shared vision of the future and a desire to preserve it, to see the plan for ever-lasting closeness through.”

The single arrives with a video shot and directed by Talvi Faustmann at Rosedale Heights School Of The Arts in Toronto, revisiting a place where both Georgia and Talvi certainly did some growing up. “I went back to my high school eight years after graduating to film a music video for a song I wrote about having one plan for my future,” she says. “To never lose touch with my best friend, and to keep doing what I love most. It was like I was sending a message to my teen self and letting her know – it’s working.”

MORE ABOUT GEORGIA HARMER
With wisdom and poise, Georgia Harmer arrived with the 2022 release of her acclaimed debut album Stay In Touch, an emotionally resonant collection of songs that articulates the ways in which even the most fleeting experiences can forge bonds between strangers, create families out of friends, and one by one form the joys and sorrows that make up a life. Spanning intimate folk and strummy country to sophisticated jazz and pop-kissed rock, Harmer and her band created musical landscapes that live up to the lyrical richness of her songwriting, and quickly established herself as a voice to transcend eras and genres with her ability to purely enchant. Georgia’s unforgettable voice is singular, gliding along a range of emotion from soft distorted rockers to bucolic ballads with windswept ease. Already a seasoned performer, Georgia has toured alongside City And Colour, Broken Social Scene, Bahamas, The Paper Kites, Haley Blais, Dan Mangan, Basia Bulat, Tim Baker, The Ballroom Thieves, and more.

FOLK-POP SINGER-SONGWRITER CINZIA & THE ECLIPSE EMBRACES CHANGE ON ANTHEMIC NEW SINGLE “HOME”

Photo Credit : Cassandra Popescu // DOWNLOAD HIGH-RES

Montreal-born, Toronto-based folk-pop act Cinzia & the Eclipse is excited to return with her dynamic new single “Home”, the first since her brilliant EP Springland. Previously available as a Bandcamp exclusive, the release comes at an inspiring time for the emerging artist serving as a momentous alt-folk anthem that refuses to back down from difficult choices but instead charging forward with confidence.

“‘Home’ is about leaning into the uncomfortable parts of growth instead of avoiding it”, Cinzia shares. “It’s an anthem towards change and putting yourself first to do what is right for you even when it’s difficult”.

The new single is a timely release for Cinzia, as change is something that has been embraced by the artist over the last year; re-discovering herself in a new city following the end of a relationship, stepping foot onto major festival stages, and embracing the challenges that come with being an independent artist. Fortunately, the anthemic spirit and tenacious folk-rock momentum of “Home” provides the soundtrack for the bittersweet feeling of leaving home to experience the journey of self-discovery and chasing a dream.

ABOUT CINZIA & THE ECLIPSE
Mirroring the cathartic reassurance of a close friend during tough times or the celebratory energy of a meaningful connection, Cinzia & the Eclipse strips away the ostentatious flare of modern songwriting to reveal the relatable side of relationships, self-discovery, and growth with her music.

The Montreal-born, Toronto-based artist released her debut single in 2018 with the help of long-time friend/collaborator Luca Liberatore, and Cinzia quickly found her audience with the single “No Matter”, reaching over 6 million streams through editorial placements.

Cinzia’s signature sound of blending pop and organic folk is redefined and has even greater depth as she continues to charm and dazzle her listeners with her latest album Springland. Her iconic vocal tone and playful phrasing have established her as one to watch as she finds inspiration from heartbreak, nostalgia, and the human condition.

Since the release, Cinzia & the Eclipse has dazzled audiences with her music, from cozy living room settings to one of Canada's largest festivals, Ottawa Bluesfest. Following a summer of live dates, including SRXP (Quebec City) and Italfest (Montreal), and with more music on the way, Cinzia & the Eclipse is quickly proving to be a star-studded name.

TAURO IS THE COLLABORATION OF PIANIST SINGER SONGWRITER CYNTHIA TAURO AND BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE’S BRENDAN CANNING

TAURO, the collaboration between jazz pianist and singer-songwriter Cynthia Tauro and Brendan Canning (Broken Social Scene) is sharing their third single, “Change Is Strange”. Following up recent singles “You Got Something” and “Great Minds”, which is currently sitting at #5 on the CBC Music Top 20

For “Change Is Strange”, Cynthia had written the chorus, and when Brendan heard it, immediately said “let’s finish this one.” The song is “about entering untouched areas of life, and feeling ready as well the uncertainties,” says Cynthia. “The line ‘in another world I belong, in another world I'm alone’ speaks to the isolation of the creation process, being in and out of relationships, and the unconditional feeling of yearning that sense of belonging.”

Rounding out the sound of Tauro for the new single is Josh Trager (Sam Roberts Band), main collaborator Kintaro Akiyama, and new to the fold, Thom D’Arcy (Small Sins).

MORE ABOUT TAURO
Cynthia Tauro has been active in the Toronto music scene for the better part of the last decade, playing primarily in the jazz circuit. Shortly after completing her degree in jazz performance at Carleton University, she released a debut full-length titled Moments. It was met with modest acclaim but more importantly it introduced her to some heavy hitters in the scene like Guido Basso, Robi Botos and Terry Clarke.

Fast forward a couple years and a few hundred gigs later, including a stint in the stage production of Mama Mia, Cynthia was looking for some new and untapped avenues to explore. She sparked a friendship with Brendan Canning in 2022 at Field Trip Music Festival in downtown Toronto and immediately felt a spark as the music of Lucy Dacus played in the background. The conversation quickly turned to writing songs together and it was clear a path was being laid out.

Cynthia began coming over to Brendan’s home for impromptu jams while the two tried to figure each other’s musical worlds out. In Brendan’s words, “It wasn’t until Cynthia started playing what she called ‘intervals’ that I truly started to see where we could connect on a deeper level.” Those ‘intervals’ would eventually become the song “Great Minds”.

This fruitful partnership is already scheming for the future. Multiple recording sessions with Spencer Muscio (Jessie Reyez), Kintaro Akyama (Birds of Bellwoods), Juwayon Clarke (Daniel Caesar), and Little Scream mean there’s more music on the way in the very near future.
