Foxwarren – Andy Shauf, Avery and Darryl Kissick, Dallas Bryson, and Colin Nealis – announce a North American Tour and release “Yvonne”, the second single/video from their new album, 2, out May 30th via Arts & Crafts. The band’s expansive tour, their first since 2019, will go on sale on Friday, April 25th at 10am local time. A full list of shows is below, with tickets and further information available here

Following lead single “Listen2me”, “Yvonne” is a compulsory study of love’s strange spell. Shauf sets the beach-like scene above a polyrhythmic sampled loop, and then when his vocal harmonies hit the string section singing, “I don’t know what I’d do without you, Yvonne,” it’s like watching the sun rise in someone else’s eyes.  “Yvonne, the woman scanning the beach each morning for buried treasure, deserves a love song too,” the band says. A collage-style animated video by artist Meghan Fenske accompanies “Yvonne”, nodding to the cut-and-paste elements of 2.

Over the last decade, Shauf has become known as “a phenomenal storyteller” (NPR Music). He’s built a reputation for his “natural ear for all of the vintage sounds that give his music an ‘out of time’ quality” (Uproxx) and his “gorgeously produced collection of short folk-fiction” (Variety). He is always using some fresh fascination, skill, or concept as the catalyst for albums he writes, plays, and produces almost entirely by himself. But before Shauf’s solo acclaim, he was a member of Foxwarren. Following Shauf’s 2016 album, The Party, Foxwarren’s self-titled debut album arrived in 2018, almost an entire decade after the formation of the band, garnering solid reviews, packed live shows, and a JUNO Award nomination. It became some of Shauf’s most celebrated music, immediately overcoming any suggestion whatsoever that this was just a side project.

Riding a crest of enthusiasm, Foxwarren headed into the studio in fall of 2018, hoping to cut a half-dozen songs for a follow-up rather quickly. Given a little distance, though, the songs felt flat. So Foxwarren opted to try something entirely new: In their own home studios across four provinces, all five members would upload song ideas, melodic phrases, or rhythmic bits to a shared folder. In Toronto, Shauf would then plug these into a sampler and construct songs from the fragments supplied by his bandmates, leaning into classic hip-hop techniques and musique concrète alike as unlikely lodestars. Foxwarren would convene at weekly online meetings, offering long-distance suggestions about which way a song might shift. It was a long and difficult process, but 2 became an uncanny revelation for Foxwarren; they warped and pushed the florid folk-rock of their past until it evolved into a mesmerizing song cycle about the vagaries of love.

By himself, Shauf has already had a stellar career, his reputation built not only by the sweetness of his melodies and sharpness of his words but also his inability to rest with past success. Foxwarren, especially here, is a crucial part of that ongoing process, but 2 represents something even more significant—five friends now nearing the end of their second decade making music together, pushing against what they’ve learned how to do in order to venture somewhere new.

MORE TOUR DATES ADDED INCLUDING CANADIAN FESTIVAL STOPS

“Katie Tupper's voice always greets listeners like the most tender dream, one you want to stay in forever. The dulcet tones of "Need Nothing" are a balm and Tupper is at her best when she's leaning into sweetness. "I'll be here for what it's worth," she states, affirming her love.” - CBC Music

“Saskatchewan's Katie Tupper makes the kind of soul-stained folk that feels instantly familiar, but it's her complex writing — vividly capturing the sights and smells of her home province, like the "fields of butter" on "How Can I Get Your Love?" — that makes her debut EP so anticipated, further calcifying the singer/songwriter's distinct and subtle touch.“ Exclaim!

"[Katie Tupper] strikes a narrow balance between the vivid romanticism of soul and the hushed confessions of a folk singer/songwriter." - Under The Radar Magazine

"Katie Tupper pairs hard truths with soft sounds." - FLOOD Magazine

Katie Tupper’s year is off to a good start. The JUNO Award nominee found her previous single “Need Nothing” voted as CBC Music’s Top 20 Fan Favourites for 2024 and recently she’s been selected for Apple Music’s ‘Up Next Canada’. And, after a meteoric rise on social media, with multiple videos going viral on both Reels and TikTok, she now has a captive audience in love with her voice.

In addition to announcing more tour dates for this Spring and Summer, today Tupper returns with another single, “Original Thoughts”, a groove-heavy R&B track that explores the rush of feelings after an intimate connection. Made with Felix Fox (BADBADNOTGOOD) and Justice Der, the track is layered with thick analogue sounds that set the stage sonically for Tupper’s upcoming debut album, anticipated later this year.

This song captured my feelings after this intimate connection that I had for the first time,” says Tupper. “I sort of felt my world shifting and my lines between curiosity and certainty became redrawn. Something that always felt really heavy and confusing became incredibly clear to me in the span of basically 72 hours and I wrote to try to capture the excitement I felt.”

Since early last year, Tupper has been enchanting audiences on TikTok and Instagram with covers of her favourite songs accompanied only by her bandmate and collaborator Benjamin Millman on keys. These covers ranging from Hall & Oates to Jazmine Sullivan have amassed over 10 million views and earned nods from superstars like SZA and Joe Jonas.

MORE ABOUT KATIE TUPPER
Beneath the painted hues and infinite prairie skies of Saskatoon – a city in the heart of Canada – lies a soulful, creative spirit that proves there’s much more to the so-called ‘fly-over states’ than grassland and grain silos. Katie Tupper, an indie R&B musician, embodies that spirit and is determined to show there’s an entire world of boundary-pushing music at work within the often overlooked region. Tupper's two EPs of heartland soul - 2022's Towards The End, and 2023's Where To Find Me - have amassed 11 million streams world wide, a JUNO Award nomination (2024 Traditional R&B-Soul Recording of the Year), the praise of tastemakers like Zane Lowe, and international radio spins from BBC 6Music (UK), FIP (France), and CBC (Canada).

Following a period of intense creative exploration across East Africa, Moonshine unveils SMS for Location, Vol. 6—an album that transcends musical and cultural boundaries. The mixtape is set to be released May 2, 2025 via Moonshine/ADA Warner.

SMS For Location, Vol. 6 is the collective’s most ambitious release to date. The 20-track mixtape weaves together the raw pulse of Batida, Rumba, Singeli, Amapiano, Hip-Hop, and R&B, fusing ancestral rhythms with forward-thinking electronic production. The result is a vibrant and borderless soundscape rooted in the collective's diasporic vision of global club culture.

Collaborators include DJ Lag, Pierre Kwenders, UNIIQU3, Branko, Vanyfox, Black Rave Culture, and many more. More than a mixtape, SMS For Location, Vol. 6 is a multidimensional project that captures the essence of Moonshine's artistic ethos—community-driven, exploratory, and radically inclusive. The long-awaited mixtape weaves together a sonic map that spans from South to East Africa, with each track capturing Moonshine's unique way of blending global sounds into a cohesive energy that connects dance floors around the world.

Today, the JUNO Award nominated collective is also diving deeper into their ever-evolving soundscape with a second bundle of singles. “Moon” channels the Lisbon scene’s pulse with DJ Satelite, DJ Gálio, and Kelly Gomez, while “Monkey Effects” taps into the raw energy of Durban-based producer DJ Lag.

“Moon” is a lush, hypnotic journey carried by Kelly Gomez’s smooth, angelic vocals, flowing in Portuguese, English, and French. Floating over a spacey Afrobeat groove, her voice becomes a melodic invocation to the moon — a tribute to its fragile beauty and quiet power. The track opens with a delicate piano line that sets the tone, while DJ Satelite and DJ Gálio’s rich percussion and textured production build into something that feels both intimate and expansive — a slow-burning invitation to lose yourself on the dancefloor.

“Monkey Effects” is pure, unfiltered release — a masterclass in building and breaking tension. DJ Lag weaves together bold rhythms, warped synths, and pulsing compression to create a high-voltage anthem that feels like a futuristic marching band on the loose. It’s a call to explore, to let go, to move without thinking twice. With every beat, “Monkey Effects” sparks that childlike instinct to play and experiment, turning the dancefloor into a space of freedom, curiosity, and raw energy.

Moonshine are also releasing the first teaser for the upcoming feature film ‘Zaïre Space Program’, a bold cinematic project co-directed by Jorge Camarotti and Nizar Saleh, and produced by Moonshine, Roméo & Fils, and Shuffle Note. Shot between Kinshasa and Montreal, the film blends documentary, coming-of-age narrative, and Afro-futurist manifesto, following Pierre Kwenders, Hervé Kalongo, and their collective as they journey to meet Jean-Patrice Keka, a Congolese aerospace engineer leading his own independent space program. By fusing artistic, musical, and scientific perspectives, ‘Zaïre Space Program’ sketches the outlines of a contemporary African utopia — a vision carried by a new generation of creators, thinkers, and inventors.
