“Montreal-based artist making tender, shimmering downtempo R&B” - The FADER

“‘Must Come Spring’ is a triumphant saga of tender poetry, transcendent melodies and textured R&B” - PAPER

“His R&B voice and meditative melodies transport us to a world where spirituality, sensuality, and intensity coexist. It is through his poetic stories that Mind Bath reveals himself in a more vulnerable way.” - VICE

“Mind Bath creates melodies as soothing as a long bath by candlelight.” - Red Bull

“Delicate vocals, with shades of spoken word poetry, fade into and resurge from synth-driven groove; visceral emotion echoes from sonic lacunae.” - Wonderland

Mind Bath shares new single “Sea Jasmine”, taken from the forthcoming Aqueous, a conceptual literary-musical work comprising a full-length album and companion debut novel, both arriving September 4.

The album features a collaboration with fellow Canadian and acclaimed genre-defying composer, singer, and celebrated transgender activist Beverly Glenn-Copeland on one of its tracks, alongside the recent singles "Acid Nine" and "Seasons Change and So Do I Bitch".

On the new single Mind Bath says, “I travelled to Zipolite, Mexico, to write Aqueous, staying in a treehouse overlooking the ocean. I met a gorgeous creature named Gabriel and watched them for hours as they completely surrendered to the waves. ‘In the ocean I get to be part of the all-one. Just me and my sister, me and the ocean, me and all my dead loves,’ they told me. They shared the story of their soulmate and sister, Jasmine, who passed away so young, and how the ocean became the place where they could remain in relationship with her. ‘It's a dance that she has been teaching me my whole life.’

“Years later, Adrian Underhill sent me this instrumental. I stripped everything away, leaving only the acoustic guitars. In the open space, I thought of them, and how I could bring a classic folk, Helplessly Hoping sound to their story. ‘Sea Jasmine’ became a song about togetherness that doesn't end where death begins. The ocean as portal, freedom, and reunion. Another song for Jasmine and Gabriel to dance to.”

MORE ABOUT MIND BATH
Raised in a small town in the BC Rockies, Mind Bath developed a creative voice shaped by solitude, attuned to nature’s divinity and the inner worlds it unlocks. Across lush queer poetry, left-field production, and intimate vocals, his work has cultivated a devoted underground following rooted as much in spiritual devotion as sonic exploration. Expanding his vision into a multidimensional universe, Aqueous invites audiences not only to read and listen, but to experiment, reflect, and evolve.

Mind Bath’s most ambitious and fully realised work to date, Aqueous was completed during a two-year residency at Camp Flirty, a secluded gay cabin in the woods. But too cute and full of promise to remain hidden away, he has returned to Montreal, where the story began, to release the album via Lighter Than Air and publish the novel with Metatron Press.

Aqueous is a psychedelic odyssey through the land of queer fantasy and mysticism. Part auto-fiction, part perverse hero’s journey, where an effervescent stardust boy cuts a hole in the sky and wakes up in a utopic new land, far removed from the oppressive, dusty dominions of the violent world on Earth, in search of healing and liberation.

From radical queer joyous faerie woo to an underground darling’s music career, the abuse of power to vignettes of a sex angel rent boy, Aqueous is healing text. Enriched by a cast of rebellious artists and sublime outsiders in collective search of liberating the core wound in every gay inner child, Aqueous is an evocative and profound meditation on the fragments of a world of trauma and the resilience, humour, and self-interrogation required to see beyond it, right through to the heart.

With Aqueous, Mind Bath deepens his role not just as a musician, but as a world-builder, a world where fantasy is a tool for healing, art is a form of resistance, and imagination opens portals to new ways of being.

WHO WILL LOOK AFTER THE DOGS? OUT NOW VIA LITTLE DIPPER

SUMMER TOUR DATES WITH JIMMY EAT WORLD, THE OFFSPRING, GOB, BILLY TALENT, DROPKICK MURPHYS, AND MORE CONTINUE THIS WEEK

“Who Will Look After the Dogs? feels like a homecoming, not just due to this past summer’s ambitious Mega City Madness tour, but because sonically, the band is functioning as one robust organism.  Pup is in sweaty peak form on this album, ripping through guitar riffs and thrashing drum beats built for thrashing bodies in the mosh pit.” - CBC Music, Best Albums of 2025

“The fifth album from Toronto-based rockers PUP is rife with angst and self-loathing. Who
Will Look After the Dogs? is an album that is as emotional as it is conducive to sweaty mosh pit sing-alongs…” - Exclaim!, Best Albums of 2025

"...one of this country’s most beloved punk exports." - RANGE

"Sonically maximalist. Just big, bold, brash, aggressive, triumphant rock and roll at
just the right time…" - NPR

"The Toronto group’s fifth album embraces self-improvement with dialed-back hooks and urgent introspection—offering a rare example of a pop-punk band learning
to age with grace." - Pitchfork

"The raging Toronto pop-punks are one of the greatest rock acts
of their generation" - Stereogum

Toronto punk heroes PUP - comprised of Stefan Babcock, Nestor Chumak, Zack Mykula, and Steve Sladkowski - released Who Will Look After The Dogs? last year to critical acclaim, and have been on the road ever since. Today they are giving some shine to Dogs-track “Concrete” with a surreal and captivating new music video – an entirely handmade, analog stop-motion video which features 2,300 frames of animation by artists, with every frame a different page from a magazine. To make it, director Sterling Larose filmed the band performing and broke it down into over 1000+ frames to send to thirteen different designers and animators. The artists returned the frames as magazine covers, tabloids, fake ads, zines, etc. – all by hand, no AI anywhere - and the results were printed and filmed frame-by-frame in stop-motion. This video took almost a year to finish due to the extremely ambitious nature of the concept, coupled with a constant stream of technical mishaps and issues, but alas! It has arrived. Alongside this feat of a music video, PUP is sharing a brand new song entitled “If This Is It,” which was recorded during Who Will Look After The Dogs? sessions.

“About a year ago, on our way to Australia, we decided to stop over in Vancouver, visit our pal Sterling, and shoot a video for ‘Concrete,’ one of our favourite songs off the last record,” says Stefan Babcock. “His concept was mental and ambitious. We did the shoot, and waited for the final product. It didn't come. Months passed and it seemed like it had disappeared into some technical abyss never to be seen again. Many days I searched the blackhole of my jetlagged memory and wondered if we'd ever even shot the thing. And then a year later, seemingly out of thin air, Sterling (and the video) surfaced. And we love it to death. It took Sterling and 13 designers and animators hundreds and hundreds of hours, physically creating thousands of individual frames, photographing them, animating. We’re fully aware that releasing a video for a song that’s already been out a year is a stupid thing to do. But we don’t care. At this point, we’re in an incredibly lucky position with PUP to mostly do whatever we want with this band, and for us, it was completely worth the wait. The video was made with no AI - just immense care, patience, and endless frustration on the part of the artists. We're proud to be a part of Sterling's vision and this mammoth project. I hope you like it as much as we do.”

PUP released their critically acclaimed new album Who Will Look After The Dogs? last year to critical acclaim and numerous top 5 Billboard Chart positions across the U.S. and Canada. They have been on the road ever since, and somehow are not done! Notably, they will headline FEST in Gainesville, Florida and will have a massive hometown show on August 23. A co-headline with Jimmy Eat World at RBC Amphitheater, PUP will be playing The Dream is Over in its entirety to celebrate the album’s 10th anniversary. See below to find a show near you and get tickets HERE

Who Will Look After The Dogs?, PUP’s pummeling and cathartic fifth LP, is their most immediate, no-frills, and hard-hitting full-length yet. It was made in Los Angeles with producer John Congleton over the course of three weeks, and it’s the culmination of PUP’s past decade of constant touring and their palpable, livewire chemistry. The album evokes the lightning-in-a-bottle intensity of their self-titled debut (except they are much better at their instruments now), and finds our self-deprecating frontman Stefan Babcock at his most reflective, vulnerable and prolific. Over 12 tracks, Babcock excavates his life's relationships—romantic, with his bandmates, and most ruthlessly, his relationship to himself. There’s plenty of growth, but also plenty of unpredictable mayhem in the arrangements and an acerbic bite in the writing. And while PUP historically are at one another’s throats during the album process, this time they scrapped their tedious perfectionism and rediscovered the joy of making loud music together.

“Within days of announcing our last album, coincidentally titled The Unraveling of PUPTHEBAND, my life unexpectedly imploded. I wrote the lyrics for 'Hallways' while all that was going on. It was a weird fucking week," says Babcock. "The title of our new record, Who Will Look After The Dogs?, is what I wrote at the top of the page, the very first thing written for this album. I think it’s devastating, but in a ‘holy shit this is overdramatic’ kinda way. At least in context of the line that comes before it. That’s what makes it funny to us. That overblown stuff we all say in our dark moments can be hilarious once you've cooled off a bit. I don’t know if anyone else thinks it’s funny, but sometimes you gotta laugh at yourself. It's the only way out of the abyss. Trust me.”

MORE PRAISE FOR WHO WILL LOOK AFTER THE DOGS?

"Is there any band more consistent than PUP these days? Since the mid-2010s, the Toronto rockers have been totally reliable in offering up gang vocals, abject nihilism, and self-deprecation in spades—and their fifth LP is no different." - The Ringer

"That ramshackle, uninhibited spirit is what makes Who Will Look After the Dogs? a refreshing return to the scrappy sound of PUP’s first record, where it was just a band in a room together playing the shit out of their instruments and not worrying about
overdubs or anything else." - Paste

"it’s the loudest, rawest, most no-nonsense punk album they’ve released since their 2013 self-titled debut." - Brooklyn Vegan

"Who Will Look After the Dogs? is PUP at their very best and most energetic... Its songs are wonderfully unhinged, perfectly unpredictable, and mix dark humor with darker pathos in typically PUPian style." - FLOOD

"For all of their songs about how they’re all aimless screw-ups, PUP have proved themselves as one of their era’s most talented and consistent punk acts." - Under The Radar

"CG Tears Is Your New Favourite Indie Supergroup. The Calgary trio's long-awaited debut transforms decades of friendship into something entirely new." RANGE

ALBUM ART // DOWNLOAD HIGH-RES

A collaboration between cryptic folk-influenced songwriter Clinton St. John (The Cape May, Pale Air Singers, Florida BC), producer and multi-instrumentalist Morgan Greenwood (Baths), and acclaimed solo artist, animator and illustrator Chad VanGaalen, CG Tears is the result of a trio of veteran musicians embracing mutual admiration and shared inspiration. Unexpected, elliptical, but always accessible, it’s the sound of three singular artists discovering just how well their eccentricities work together.

Today, they share the first single from their upcoming self-titled album which arrives with a video from Chad VanGaalen. On the new single, “Blue Wall Of Ectoplasm”, St. John says : “In a dream I encountered a blue wall, a field of radiant electricity whose static crackled and buzzed. Soon after a friend of mine had a dream where he experienced the same thing, except he put his face halfway through the wall and said that what he saw came to pass in real life.”

MORE ABOUT CG TEARS
For the better part of 12 years, CG Tears was an intention more than it was a band. An expression of mutual admiration between songwriter Clinton St. John and producer Morgan Greenwood, the idea of a collaboration was pitched in 2013 but never quite coalesced. Musical ideas were shared, but with Greenwood uprooting himself to Los Angeles and joining the live incarnation of Will Wiesenfeld’s Baths and St. John pursuing his muse through a string of solo releases and a burgeoning visual arts practice, the project never quite found its footing.

That changed after 2020. Back in Calgary, Greenwood joined St. John’s latest project Florida BC, contributing synths to several tracks to their dark, folk-inflected debut. Always a prolific producer, Greenwood took the opportunity to share some of his latest creations with St. John, and this time it stuck. The skittering rhythms and echo-drenched synth pads of the tracks were worlds away from the dirge-like guitars of Florida BC, but they became a minor obsession for St. John, who set to work recording snippets of vocals and fleshing out lyrical themes.

Moving from those initial ideas to finished songs was a process of discovery as much as creation, with St. John acting as musical dowsing rod searching for deeper wells of inspiration. Lyrics and melodies were improvised in stream-of-consciousness sessions, then sent to Greenwood for reassurance and revision. Themes and narratives would emerge from the depths, images suggesting themselves and pointing in unexpected directions. And with each iteration and each refinement, the two were increasingly convinced they’d struck on something special, a stream of impressionistic poetry and IDM production channeled squarely into the realm of pop.

Eventually they had what they felt was a finished album, handing it to multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Chad VanGaalen to make the final mix. VanGaalen agreed to the task but disagreed that the album was done. To his ears, the songs were promising but incomplete, and he asked to take a more active role than just tweaking the mix. The duo indulged the request, and VanGaalen set to work recording additional instrumentation, adding backing vocals, and rounding out arrangements. Whatever skepticism there was quickly fell to the side; once they heard the additions, it was clear that CG Tears was a trio.

The resulting album is an unexpected pop gem. Fusing hazy Warp Records productions with off-kilter hooks and psychedelic undercurrents, it’s atmospheric and elliptical but always accessible. A dozen years in the making, it’s the sound of three singular artists discovering just how well their eccentricities work together.
