Today, Ten Kills The Pack, the musical project of JUNO Award winning songwriter Sean Sroka, is releasing the new single, “We Both Care”. The new track features performances from Charles Spearin (Broken Social Scene) and Hannah Georgas and was mixed by JAY SOM (producer and mixer of Boy Genius).

“We Both Care” is a song “I really felt as I was writing it,” explains Sroka. “Though it is a bit more boppy and the production is fun, the song is based around the idea of the divide people have between them even when they both care about the same things. And as you grow as a person, will that divide become bigger or smaller. How will you get through to each other, even on the small things? The main thing is, you care enough to be there. Even it's on a different side of that made up line.”

The new single arrives with a video inspired by the lyric ‘stretch sweaters of mine’, for which Sroka partnered with Graham Walsh (Holy Fuck) to make an 8-12 person sweater.

MORE ABOUT TEN KILLS THE PACK
Sean Sroka is the kind of self-deprecating singer-songwriter that blends a punk rock ethos with the calm and kindness of folk. The frontman for alt folk outfit Ten Kills the Pack has become known for his confessional-style lyricism that explores the rough edges of the human condition.

A two time JUNO Award winner as co-writer of Aysanabee’s “Somebody Else” (2024) and “Edge Of The Earth”, Sroka also lent a hand to TALK’s #1 Alt Radio hit “Time Machine”. Sroka is also the Co-Founder of Beautiful View Music Festival with Hannah Georgas in Belleville, ON which saw performances this year from Sarah Harmer, Cadence Weapon, Jeremie Albino, and Ada Lea.

Sroka approaches his life as a musician with a raw passion and sincere attitude that stems from his DIY days cutting his teeth in the music scene of Toronto or playing in his sludgy punk band around the city. His independence guided the 2019 full-length, Force Majeure, recorded in apartments across the city of Toronto, landing him on one of Spotify's holy grails of playlists "Most Beautiful Songs in the World". While follow-up Life, Death & Afterwards, produced by Dave Cerminera (Father John Misty, Dawes), expanded his scope on the cerebral and philosophical. Ten Kills the Pack’s 2023 Thank You For Trying: ACT I & II unpacked the “artist’s journey,” illustrating a message of hope while refusing to shy away from all the bumps and bruises. Co-Produced with Marcus Paquin (The National, Local Natives), Sean Sroka holds a magnifying glass to the very idea of what it means to be an artist.

Sroka’s collaborative efforts led him to produce with indie marvel Hannah Georgas on her 2023 album I’d Be Lying if I Said I Didn’t Care receiving illuminating reviews in publications like The Rolling Stone and Line of Best Fit.

With a long future laid out, Sroka’s work and collaboration is a bold new expression from a poetic and nuanced artist that pushes the boundaries of what a singer-songwriter is or can be.
