After a marathon performing at several events across Amsterdam Dance Event, Montreal’s one and only Tiga closes out his HOTLIFE remix series with a new version of his Fckuers collab, “SILK SCARF”, remixed via Chris Lake, dropping today via Turbo Recordings x Secret City Records. Tiga’s “SILK SCARF” saw the Hardcore Storyteller reach effortlessly into his bottomless bag of music, only to find new friends waiting inside. The result was a collaboration with white-hot NYC band Fcukers that quickly took on a life of its own, bringing together their shared love of party music and an instinct for ignoring genre boundaries. “Their spirit reminds me of the Electroclash Summer of Love (Y2K - present),” says Tiga. “You think we cared about genre boundaries? Think again.”

Now, Chris Lake takes “SILK SCARF” for a spin down tech house alley, bringing his own high impact approach to the track. As Tiga puts it: “And who does a party track better than Chris Lake? Literally nobody.” Lake juices up the remix to the maxxx, pushing Tiga and Shanny’s vocals to the forefront for a version built for festival stages and big-room dancefloors.

Released earlier this year, HOTLIFE marked Tiga’s first studio album in over a decade, bringing together collaborators including Boys Noize, Fcukers, MRD, Maara, Priori and Patrick Holland across 12 tracks. The album followed a run of singles including “SILK SCARF”, “HOT WIFE” and “FRICTION”, earning support from Resident Advisor, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Crack, CLASH, Pitchfork and more.

Across the album and its subsequent remixes, HOTLIFE brings Tiga’s distinctive mix of underground club sensibility, sharp songwriting, and irreverent personality back into focus. With Chris Lake’s take on “SILK SCARF”, the project finishes on a high-energy note, ready for dancefloors and festival stages alike.

MORE ABOUT TIGA
Tiga, born in Montreal, is a globally renowned DJ, producer, and the creative force behind Turbo Recordings. His journey began in the vibrant chaos of the 1980s Indian club scene before he returned to Montreal in the early 1990s, where he pioneered a new wave of nightlife and co-founded the legendary nightclub Sona. His label Turbo Recordings has since become a launchpad for iconic electronic music releases from artists including Chromeo, Azari & III, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont, ANNA, and Charlotte de Witte.

Tiga’s music has always had a fertile creative tension at its heart: on one hand, he’s an underground electro don; on the other, a pop sensibility that lets him write great songs. His chart-topping cover of “Sunglasses at Night” with Zyntherius became an electro anthem, while his remix credits include The xx, LCD Soundsystem, Moby, Depeche Mode and Justice. His contribution to DJ Kicks and original works, including “Pleasure from the Bass” further cemented his place in electronic music history.

With his infectious creativity and a career spanning decades, Tiga continues to captivate audiences worldwide, shaping the sound of modern club culture. Meanwhile, Tiga has toured the world extensively, playing legendary festivals and nightclubs such as Coachella, Sónar Festival, Berghain, Stereo Montreal, and Tomorrowland.
