Throughout Fucked Up’s double-album epic Dose Your Dreams, the politics and aesthetics of hardcore are married to an “open format” approach to genre: elements of doo-wop, krautrock, groove, digital hardcore, and so much more. Perhaps no better song exemplifies this marriage than the album’s title track, which has been given the music video treatment courtesy of the band’s Mike Haliechuk and is debuting today.

Fucked Up’s latest opus, Dose Your Dreams, arrives everywhere worldwide on October 5, but today we reach the epic’s apex with “Accelerate.” As the lyrical centerpiece of the album, it storms in like Boredoms on a bullet train and dissolves into a digital nightmare. Our hero David finds himself exhausted and at his weakest point, and opts to render himself a bomb ready to explode due to the constant charging and prodding of the consumer lifestyle. Before David does this, he plunges to the depths of his existence one last time…

The drama within Fucked Up’s incredibly anticipated Dose Your Dreams (out October 5 worldwide) unfolds like a miniature world of many parts being explored, a map being illuminated location by location.
