Last week, as he continued to prepare for a fifty four date North American tour in support of his upcoming album Honest Man, Matt Andersen was honoured as Male Vocalist Of The Year at the 19th Annual Maple Blues Awards for the second straight year. Set for release on February 26 via True North Records, Honest Man is the eighth full-length album from the New Brunswick songwriter. Having already revealed the first single “Let’s Get Back” the internationally acclaimed performer is now celebrating by sharing the title track courtesy of Relix.

Produced in New York with Commissioner Gordon (Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse, KRS-One), Honest Man follows up the JUNO Award nominated Weightless and sees the songwriter pushing himself into new territory. From writing around drum beats to bringing in a cast of players including Andy Bassford (Toots and the Maytals, Burning Spear, Natalie Merchant) Benjamin Bouton (Ibibio Sound Machine), Josh David Barrett (The Wailers, Lauryn Hill), and Lenny Underwood (Mary J. Blige, Amy Winehouse), Honest Man expands on what we already know and love from Andersen and brings it to a new level.

Matt Andersen has been enthralling audiences with his one of a kind performance in North America, Europe and Australia for years. And besides his four Maple Blues Awards, he has a Memphis Blues Challenge win, a CIMA Road Gold Award, a European Blues Award, and a JUNO Award nomination. A powerhouse performer with a giant soul-filled voice and commanding stage presence, Andersen has built a formidable following the old fashioned way – touring worldwide and letting the converted audiences and Andersen devotees spread his reputation through word of mouth.

Supporting the release of Honest Man, Andersen will take to the road for three months through North America and joining him on the Canadian dates will be another JUNO Award nominated songwriter, Donovan Woods.  All tour dates are listed below.

PUP RELEASES NEW SONG

LISTEN TO “DVP” HERE VIA SOUNDCLOUD

“PUP is a perfect ten.” - Noisey

“Effortlessly cool, charmingly nerdy, and wholly brilliant.” - NME

“It’s a tricky balance between aggression and pop, and they get it just right.”  - Stereogum

It’s been nearly two years since beloved Toronto punks PUP released a new song and today, the wait is finally over. The ferocious four-piece release “DVP” today via Soundcloud, a song that the band has been performing live since early 2014.

After playing 300 shows in the last two years across North America, Europe, and Australia, most recently having ripped through a near two month-long run across the United States supporting Modern Baseball, the band is taking it easy...for the time being. Earlier this month, PUP announced their return to NYC for a one-off headlining show at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn on Friday February 12. The show sold out in hours as adoring fans scrambled to get a chance to see them for the first time since their sold out Mercury Lounge show in November of 2014. PUP will also be making a stop in Austin for this year’s SXSW.

Since the 2014 release of PUP’s self-titled debut, this ferocious four-piece has truly taken the world by storm and will undoubtedly continue to with the release of their highly-anticipated new album, coming later this spring. They were listed amongst Rolling Stone’s Breakout Rock Acts of 2014, named one of Kerrang’s 20 Hottest Bands In The World Right Now and garnered nominations for two JUNO Awards and the Prism Prize.

Noisey declared their debut album “a perfect ten,” BrooklynVegan calls them “catchy, anthemic and raw as hell,” Consequence Of Sound boasted that “PUP make punk rock effortless” and even The New York Times included PUP as one of their picks for Best Albums of 2014.

With only a week left until the official release of Federal Light’s new LP, Coeur de Lion, the Winnipeg five-piece is celebrating with a stream of the full album, courtesy of Exclaim!. Produced by Rusty Matyas (Imaginary Cities, Sheepdogs), Coeur de Lion travels through points of pressure, regret, solace, anticipation, and disquiet, without ever losing sight. The album follows up We Were Found In The Fog, which won the Western Canadian Music Award for Aboriginal Recording Of The Year.

STREAM COEUR DE LION HERE VIA EXCLAIM!

Set for release on January 29 via Aporia Records, Coeur de Lion finds a sense of beauty by examining the gravity of everyday moments. A song might be about riding transit and overhearing a kid say something obvious that feels profound; it might be about experiencing the harder edges of city life and the emotional toll that can take. What ties their songs together is hope – in even the most haunting songs there’s a morsel of it. “I find it uplifting that there’s some hope in the saddest of situations,” says frontman Jean-Guy Roy.

Beginning on February 26, Federal Lights takes to the road for a string of tour dates throughout Eastern Canada and Ontario. More tour dates will be announced shortly.
