Today, LOONY, the Toronto-based singer and songwriter, is sharing “Tiger Eye”, another new track from her upcoming debut, self-titled album, due out March 22, 2024. A bouncy, fun loving groove with four to the floor pacing that still maintains the typical, subtle intelligence found in all LOONY records. Whether a cheeky lyric like ‘Why don’t we go out tonight 6:45, that’s 8 o’clock my time’ or ‘You ask if it’s forever, I say long enough’ reveals itself through the unassuming but perfectly crafted harmonies, “Tiger Eye” is a gift that keeps on giving.

The first two singles ("Pain & Pleasure," "Sikoyo") transport you to the club and are imbued with Afro-diasporic sounds from batida to amapiano to Afro-house, thanks to a range of collaborators from across the globe." Fédération Internationale du Bruit, “International Federation of Noise” in French, stands as a cutting-edge musical odyssey conceived by the innovative minds behind Moonshine—an avant-garde, cross-border collective that curates lunar-based experiences, music, fashion, and cinema rooted in the realms of African and electronic club culture. Born from their dance floor journey, extending from Lisbon to Los Angeles, FIDB emerges as the quintessential cultural amplifier of the club, offering a haven for self-expression and unity.

In this realm, FIDB shines a brilliant spotlight on the boldest and most inventive African and diasporic club and electronic artists of our era. From the pulsating beats of batida and amapiano to the infectious rhythms of jersey, the “International Federation of Noise” aims to be the resounding heartbeat of dance floors—transforming them into sanctuaries of self-expression and peace, from the sun-soaked streets of Los Angeles to the vibrant alleys of Abidjan.

ABOUT MOONSHINE
Since its founding in 2014, Moonshine has carved out an enviable niche in Montréal’s nightlife milieu by celebrating a wide range of fledgling local talents, championing Afro-futuristic, bass-heavy, electro-funk sounds, and bringing together communities that wouldn’t necessarily cross paths otherwise. As the name indicates, the lunar-based Moonshine recipe entails an all-night, sensory-soaked party on the Saturday after every full moon in ever-shifting, unpredictable locations across the city, always strictly disclosed via text messages. With fresh cuts supplied by resident DJs Pierre Kwenders, Vanyfox, San Farafina, and AKantu, visual installations and a slew of live musicians and performers that have included Kaytranada, Dâm-Funk, Le1f, Venus X, Uproot Andy, Bambii and Branko, the parties have become a staple of the after-hours scene, in Canada and abroad, with appearances in NYC, LA, Paris, Brussels, Milan, Lisboa, London, Barcelona and Santiago just to name a few.

Moonshine’s multi-disciplinary ethos has never been more realized. They have a clothing line with over 50 original pieces, are partnered with Brooklyn’s MoCaDA Museum for the launch of their Congo-set art film (inaugurating September 2024), and started a non-profit community space called Club Sagacité, which provides resources and mentorship to creatives, with a focus on BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.

BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB & FRIENDS RELEASE NEW EP, FANTASIES

FEATURING COLLABORATIONS WITH LUCY ROSE, RAE MORRIS, LIZ LAWRENCE & MATILDA MANN

NORTH AMERICAN TOUR COMES TO TORONTO, MONTREAL, VANCOUVER BEGINNING MARCH 15

Today, Bombay Bicycle Club release their new EP, Fantasies, featuring collaborations with Lucy Rose, Rae Morris, Liz Lawrence and Matilda Mann. The EP is billed as a Bombay & Friends release, and is out via Arts & Crafts. The release follows the band’s extensive UK / Ireland headline tour, and comes ahead of their North American headline tour with Canadian tour dates beginning March 15.

The Fantasies EP is released digitally today, and available on physical via the band’s website and through a small number of independent record stores. The EP is limited to 2500 hand-numbered copies and is printed on eco-mix vinyl, a sustainable material which is created by recycling the offcuts from other pressings. It is also packaged in an eco-friendly sleeve and shrinkwrap.

The new tracks are both a celebration of Bombay Bicycle Club’s rich history and a marker of their bold new chapter. They showcase the depth of the band’s creative synergy with their long-term collaborators, Lucy, Rae and Liz, who fans will remember from their work on some of Bombay’s standout tracks, and frequent live cameos. The lead single, “Fantasneeze” is led by new friend and collaborator, Matilda, demonstrating the band’s willingness to embrace the new generation, and to push themselves creatively. Sonically, the EP aligns with the more experimental sound of their recent sixth album, My Big Day, which was met with critical acclaim upon release in late 2023.

The band says: “When we decided to hold ‘Fantasneeze’ back for its own release after the album, we kept working and finished off three other songs in short order. We think of this as a Bombay & Friends release because each song has a good friend of the band singing on it (Lucy Rose, Rae Morris, Liz Lawrence, Matilda Mann). Some are old friends with long-term, close associations to the band (Lucy Rose for instance) while Matilda Mann is a newer collaborator (having contacted Jack to do some co-writing initially a couple years ago). It’s also very much a continuation of My Big Day as it was recorded around the same time and mixed by Dave Fridmann.”

The new release follows the band’s sixth album, My Big Day, which debuted at #3 on the UK Official Albums Chart. The album features collaborations with Chaka Khan, Damon Albarn, Jay Som, Nilüfer Yanya and Holly Humberstone, and was produced by frontman Jack Steadman, with contributions from Paul Epworth and Ben Allen. My Big Day has been lauded for its genre-defying experimentation, and celebrated as some of the band’s best work to date, 15 years into their career.

So far in 2024, the band has completed an extensive UK & Ireland headline tour, to be followed by a North American headline tour, and the biggest headline show of the band’s career at London’s Alexandra Palace Park on 12th July. Festival dates will also be announced in due course.
