Cinzia & The Eclipse is stepping into a new era — one defined not only by vulnerability, but by accountability. The Montreal-born folk-pop singer-songwriter has built her reputation on emotional honesty that still rings through her upcoming release, The Wax EP, arriving March 20, 2026. Over the past few years, Cinzia & The Eclipse have been quietly teasing songs from the collection, giving audiences glimpses into a project that marks a turning point in her artistic evolution.

The Wax EP goes further into self-reflection, accountability and ownership. Rather than seeking validation or understanding from others, Cinzia turns inward; “I went through two of the toughest years of my life feeling no sense of belonging and losing my purpose. My writing took a turn where I felt I didn’t have anything to say. It wasn’t until I listened back to my discography and noticed one particular thing. I always made every song about someone else. I wrote and sang about decisions they made that affected me, faults that I imposed on them. This body of work is a way to own up to choices I’ve made, as opposed to blaming other people for situations we found ourselves in.”

Written over the past year during a period of personal transition, the EP came together in intimate writing sessions with LucaTheProducer, Markybeats, and one particular girls night with Emma Lamontagne and Vanessa Roque (Exa). The music centres around raw lyricism and stripped-back folk-pop arrangements. Rooted in acoustic textures and atmospheric layers that nod to her Eclipse moniker, the project blends organic instrumentation with subtle, celestial tones. True to her brand, Cinzia has aligned the EP’s rollout with lunar cycles, building anticipation among her devoted moon-and-eclipse-following fan base through timely releases and symbolic teasers.

Today, Cinzia is sharing the new single “Thread”, a song which “captures a moment of surrender wrapped in soft but steady instrumentation,” she explains. “The beauty of thread lies in the progression of the song. The way it starts out as any relationship would. You’re curious to learn about each other as you begin to open your mind and become a new person. But if you’re not careful you begin to lose yourself and your flexibility starts to turn into begging. Begging about doing anything to make them to stay”

MORE ABOUT THE WAX EP
At its core, songwriting remains the essence of everything for Cinzia. Every melody begins with a lyrical truth. Every arrangement serves the story. Folk-pop may frame her sound, but confession fuels it.

The Wax EP symbolizes rebirth, a shedding and reshaping, much like the lunar imagery that has long surrounded her artistic identity. The project represents growth, illumination, and stepping into alignment both musically and personally. In owning her missteps and choices, Cinzia & The Eclipse find their place not only within the music industry, but within the wider universe.

Raised in Montreal’s vibrant community, Cinzia developed her voice as a storyteller early on, crafting songs that feel both intimate and cinematic. Over the years, she has steadily grown a dedicated following, amassing strong streaming numbers and performing at major festivals including Festivoix, Ottawa Bluesfest, Festival sur le Canal, and St. Roch XP

Out May 1 from Victory Pool Records, Geordie Gordon’s third solo album River Round is a collection of love songs as intimate anthems of resilience. Friendship and romance stand off with life’s losses as Gordon weaves into his home-recorded folk music the irrepressible joys of pop—memorable verses and soulful, hard-hitting hooks—honed in his career as sideman and collaborator in acts including Islands, US Girls, Andy Shauf, and The Weather Station. The album’s first single “Endless Line” closes the distance between two lovers that are apart, and this theme, the closing of distances, is repeated as one of music’s healing and super powers.

“I have been so lucky that playing in bands has brought me to some amazing parts of the world,” says Gordon. “Amidst the whirlwind of touring, I often try to find a quiet moment to sit back and appreciate the places that I find myself in; reaching the ocean after a long drive, crossing through a towering mountain range to get to the next show, walking through the sleeping streets of a great city after we’ve packed up for the night. These are the moments when I most feel how tiny I am on this giant planet. At the same time, I reach inward and know that I am carrying with me all the people that I love back home. Though they might be thousands of miles and many time zones away, there is an invisible thread that connects us. Endless Line is an ode to the love that binds us always, no matter where we are.

“‘Endless Line’ was written on my four-string tenor guitar, an instrument that seems to want to produce fiddle tunes and waltzes. Because of that, most of my new songs have ended up in 3/4 or 6/8 time. ‘Endless Line’ sprouted from the folk music of my upbringing but grew into an upbeat rock song that builds as layers and rhythms are added. It was recorded with a live rhythm section of Steven Foster on drums, Ed Squires on congas, and Ben Whiteley on bass. The track flows forward with a raw, organic exuberance, building to a fuzz guitar solo then bursting into a joyous finale where the horn section of Dan Gooch and vocals of Isla Craig summit the sonic peak.”

MORE ABOUT GEORDIE GORDON + RIVER ROUND
On River Round Gordon plays a small orchestra of instruments, including acoustic and electric six-string and tenor guitars, bass, mandolin, electric mandola, octave mandolin, fiddle, organ, Wurlitzer, Moog, and glockenspiel.

The title River Round cites the “round” as a form of singing in unison, a blending of voices, hinting at how this solo project is in fact a revival, a revelry of coming together. Even in the apocalyptic “All the Fires,” a song that looks frankly at the world, Gordon’s lyrics insist there’s a way through, and that way is by coming together: “I just need to see you safe by morning. Because there’s no morning without you.”

On the album’s second track, “River House” Gordon brings back to life the old, crumbling rooms of a home he moved into at 18, where so many musicians would be roommates and gather to imagine and build the artist’s hometown punk and folk scene in Guelph, Ontario. That community mourns through “Richard’s Song,” an ode to the late musician and indomitable “front man” Richard Laviolette (1982–2023), whose Sunday band practices Gordon recalls with radical tenderness. He sings to Richard, ‘We can’t rehearse for what life brings / You know you can tell me anything,’ and the lines resound as a call to nurture, through song, friendship and queer life at every beginning, end, and transition. This nurturing might be what Gordon calls “the good hurt in the music.”

Geordie Gordon is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Toronto and raised in Guelph, Ontario, where at the age of 13 he began playing in touring bands. For twenty years, he has toured with acts including Islands, US Girls, Andy Shauf, and The Weather Station. His solo project combines folk, soul, and pop in classic songs with lyrical verses and melodic, explosive hooks. His songs tell stories of coming of age, music community, and queer love. River Round is his third solo album on Victory Pool Records.

Following the inclusion of three pieces from 8 tableaux in the César‑nominated film Nino and a Volume I track in a Louis Vuitton advertising campaign, Flore Laurentienne—the project of composer and orchestrator Mathieu David Gagnon—returns with “Fleuve VII”, a new piece from his upcoming album Volume III, arriving April 10 via Secret City Records. This new work highlights a delicate dialogue between the piano and the string orchestra, carried by minimalist and hypnotic writing. Mathieu David Gagnon explains: “I created this series of pieces, called Fleuve, based on a fairly simple concept: reusing the same chords, but in a different order. The idea is to evoke the changing character of the St. Lawrence River.”

On stage, Flore Laurentienne will tour Europe this spring with six dates announced in London, Brussels, and Paris, before a highly anticipated concert at the Maison Symphonique, presented as part of the Montreal International Jazz Festival on June 26. The project comes to life on stage thanks to an ensemble of seven musicians—a string quartet, two keyboardists, and a percussionist—led by Mathieu David Gagnon, who plays the Minimoog, an instrument emblematic of Flore Laurentienne’s signature sound. Tickets are on sale now.

Flore Laurentienne's compositions have enjoyed remarkable success since the beginning of the year. Three of his pieces feature in the César-nominated film Nino, directed by Pauline Loquès and starring Théodore Pellerin, who won the Q d'Or award for Actor of the Year for his role in the film. In addition, the piece “Petit piano,” from Volume I, accompanies Louis Vuitton's spring-summer 2026 campaign, featuring Jeremy Allen White. Flore Laurentienne has also collaborated with Moog Music, an iconic brand of analog instruments, on a video highlighting his approach and use of the Minimoog.

MORE ABOUT VOLUME III
The message, the shareable essence, on this third album by Flore Laurentienne, is light; it is the seed in the ground that becomes a plant and then a flower, blooming at its peak and then inevitably wilting so that the cycle can begin again; it is the quest for beauty in chaos, from which harmony is born. On Volume III, Mathieu David Gagnon and his Flore Laurentienne return to celebrate the magnificence of the river and its floral and sylvan surroundings.

Volume III is also a more in-depth exploration of the arrangement of acoustic and synthetic elements that characterize Flore Laurentienne. Unlike the first three albums, most of the pieces were developed with the band members during residencies and concerts before being recorded, which enriched the compositions at a stage when they were still evolving. The band fuels the project and stimulates Gagnon's writing by advancing the sound of the project, nourishing it and allowing it to go further.

This new milestone also marks the end of a trilogy that began in 2019 with Volume I – with the inherent and parallel aspiration of reaching a third volume in order to pay tribute to Volume 3, L'Infonie's (a Quebec cult collective that blended jazz, prog, art music, and poetry) first album. The latter did not influence Flore Laurentienne's music per se, but rather its conception of freedom in composition, combining classical and improvisation.

The progression of Volume III is in line with the evolution of the project: while the first track, "Fleurs," is similar to what Volume II offered, "(À travers les) Chablis," the closing track, gives us a glimpse of what the next installment might sound like. It's an album to be enjoyed alongside its two predecessors, while also looking forward to the next step. Flore Laurentienne is constantly evolving, but from the beginning, the vision has remained the same: to create music that is alive, true, human, and uncompromising.

ABOUT FLORE LAURENTIENNE
Rooted in the Québec landscape and inspired by the vastness of the St. Lawrence River, Flore Laurentienne’s music— a harmonious blend of strings and analog synthesizers—takes us on a journey to the edge of the sublime, where we find ourselves both fragile and powerful, suspended between vulnerability and wonder.

Flore Laurentienne draws inspiration from contrasting worlds: the melodic clarity and counterpoint of Johann Sebastian Bach; the narrative intensity and progressive audacity of King Crimson; and the electronic minimalism of Hans-Joachim Roedelius.
