Today, Reuben And The Dark has debuted the title track off his new album Arms Of A Dream. The track saw its Canadian broadcast premiere last night via the Strombo Show.
On “Arms Of A Dream”, the album settles into a moment of reprieve. A lattice of reversed ambience and glinting guitar set an icy tranquility as the bed for this ballad. Reuben shares, “The album was already titled Arms Of A Dream before this song was written. Those words have been floating around for a long time. They come from an old poem I wrote. A bridge between what is real and what is not. The extension of a fantasy or imagination. To be held in the arms of a dream.” The track follows lead single “All Or Nothing”, which confronts the entanglement of love and family over a field of chiming guitars and rolling drums.

The spirited folk-rock outfit, led by songwriter/vocalist Reuben Bullock, will release the 12-song collection May 4 on Arts & Crafts. Arms Of A Dream finds Reuben And The Dark working outside its comfort zone, both musically and lyrically. The result is Bullock’s most vivid and transformative music to date: an intimate exploration of the inversion of imagination and reality in dreams. The album will be available on LP, CD and digital formats, plus a limited edition of 100 white vinyl available by pre-order only.

Reuben And The Dark has performed at many festivals, including Sasquatch, Austin City Limits, Osheaga, Field Trip, and more. The band has also shared stages with Vance Joy, The Strumbellas, Boy & Bear, and The Paper Kites, and recently completed a sold out headlining tour. The band’s recent single “Heart In Two” peaked at #16 on Commercial Alternative radio, and has had cross-Canada adds from CBC Radio 2, SiriusXM, Indie88, The Edge, and more. The song “Hurricane” has been charting on CBC Music Top 20 for the last 4 weeks and new single “All Or Nothing” debuted on CBC Radio 3 this week. few of the band’s tracks have also recently been featured in a HBO promo, Glass Castle (Lionsgate),The Originals (CW), and Ray Donovan.
